Cost Based Price List
Product Costing Overview
Product Costing is a tool that can be used to generate Base Prices on the Price List based on the cost of inventoried product. The sale prices derived from averaged delivered cost of purchase product can be used to populate price lists. Product Costing is based on delivered cost for:
- Purchased Inventory On-Hand including Repacked Product and Non-Produce Product
- Configuration options allow flexibility to include or exclude inbound un-received purchased product, specify commodity attributes and more.

Grower and Miscellaneous Product are excluded from Product Costing.

Designate whether a price list is to use the Cost Option by assigning a Cost Option to the Price Name, or leave the Cost Option blank and manually enter base price into a Pricing Entry.
Product Costing is available in Price List > Daily Work. Standard Famous Security behavior governs the actions. Cost is generated based on configurable Cost Options. Product cost calculation can be generated directly by the user, or it can be scheduled to run regularly to pick up the changes in inventory purchases and sales affecting product cost. The resulting calculated cost can be used to populate price lists.
When the Process button is clicked in Product Costing, calculated or Overridden Costs are pushed to the associated price lists Base Price where price entry product rows have matching price entry attribute values or matching substitution.
Pricing Entry and Pricing Entry List
The Cost Option field in Price Entry List allows you to easily view which Price Names are associated to Cost Options. Access Group in Pricing Entry adds security.

In Pricing Entry, the Base Price is populated by the processed Product Costing but can be overridden by the user directly in Pricing Entry. Optionally override the Cost Option in Pricing Entry at the product line level. The Sale Price of product is derived from Base Price plus Formula (if applicable). The Publish checkbox determines whether this product is included in published price lists.
Product Costing Reports (Price List > Reports) display the details used to derive average cost:
